エレキギターの代名詞、GibsonのLes Paul。このギターを作った伝説のLes Paul氏が、木曜日に（2009年8月13日）肺炎で亡くなりました。94才でした。
Gibson Les Paul guitars are synonymous with the electric guitars. Mr. Las Paul who invented legend guitars died Thursday of complications from pneumonia. He was 94.

2005年、オークションで有名なクリスティーズ・オークションで、1955年のGibson Les Paulが$45,600で落札されたこともあるって。エレキが400万円以上ですよ!スゴイですよね～。ミュージシャンの所有物って事ではなく、単にvintageのエレキですよ!!
In 2005, Christie's auction house sold a 1955 Gibson Les Paul for $45,600. It's not musician's belonging guitar. It's just a electric guitar, but it has history. It's so nice, isn't it?
2005年には、ポール氏はナショナル・インベンターの殿堂入りをしました。
音楽業界にとっては、彼の功績はとても大きな事です!!
Paul was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2005.

ねぇ～、本当にすごいよね。まっ、ギター自体はすでに世の中にあったんだけどね。でも、エレキといえば"レス・ポール"って世界で認識されているってすごいよね。
ブランド名がすでにそのものを示すって!!Band Aid、Walkman、Xeroxなどなど。あれ、話しがそれた（笑）
