The Cheesecake Factory

前にも取り上げたんだけど・・・写真を撮ったので、またまたThe Cheesecake Factory～。

今回は、Brentwoodへ行ってきました。（住んでた頃は、ここばっか行ってました。）

ここのウェートレス＆ウェイターはwell trainingされているので、席に着くとすぐに声をかけてくるのに、この日はなかなか誰も来ず・・・。で、10分位たってから“ちょっと待っててね、今行くから～”って、ウェイターが言ってたんです。そしたら、そしたらなんと、一緒にご飯を食べに行ったお友達のMiho-chanさんのお友達のex-boyfriendだったんですよぉ!!びっくり、びっくり。世間って狭いですねぇー。

私が食べてるのが、Shepehrd's Pie。My favoriteなんですよぉ～。前にも書いたけど、簡単に説明すると、固めていないミートローフの上にこれでもか!のマッシュポテトが乗っかっています。流石に食べきれないから、left overを持って帰って次の日の朝ごはんにしました～♪Miho-chanさんがオーダーしたのが、Famous Factory Meatloaf。これもボリュームありますよー。

そそ、Miho-chanさんは、Los Angelesで美容師さんをやっているんです。今までは、Beverly Hillsのお店でスペースをレンタルしてやっていたんですが、今はCentury CityのFOXの近くのビルに移動したんです。hpはhttp://www.mihostyle.com/。チェックしてみてくださいね。美容院の経営が面白いです。ビルの1フロアーすべて個人の美容師さんへレンタルしているんだって。プライベートルームで、各美容師さんが働いているんだって。だから、シャンプーからブローまですべて同じ美容師さん。日本のようにアシスタントがシャンプーするってスタイルとは違うんです。L.A.へ行って、髪の毛ケアしてみたいなと思ったら、是非行ってみてくださいね。日本語/英語大丈夫です。

話長くなるけど、ついでだから・・・Brentwoodのレストランは、かなりの確立でHollywood Celebritiesに会える場所です。（パパラッチとは遭遇したことないけど・・・）私が見たり、友達が見たりしたのは、クリスチャン・スレーター、ダスティー・ホフマン、トム・クルーズ、ハリソン・フォード、ウィル・ファレルなどなど（もっと一杯いるけど・・・）、日本人は松田聖子＆さやか、福山雅治などなど。素なcelebritiesを見たいという人は、checkですよー♪

I talked about the Cheesecake Factory once before, but...

This time my friend, Miho-chan and I went to TCF in Brentwood. (Actually, I used to go there alot.)

All waitress and waiters are well training, so usually when customers seated immediately she/he comes, but that day nobody came.... About 10 minutes later, a waiter passed and said "I'll be there!". Actually, that waiter was Miho-chan's friend's ex-boyfriend!!! What a coincident!!! What a small world!

I ordered as usual Shepehrd's Pie (it's my favorite!). Miho-chan got Famous Factory Meatloaf . They are large plate, aren't they?

Miho-chan is professional hair stylist in Los Angeles. She has worked at Beverly Hills salon for more than 10 years. Now her salon is located near the Century City. Please check her HP.

In a passing remark... If you walk in Brentwood, you'll meet Hollywood celebrities high ratio. (However, I've never encountered paparazzi photographers there.) If you peep Hollywood celebrites' life, why don't you check Brentwood?

Whole Foods

オーガニックにうるさいLos Angelian。Whole Foodsは高いけど支持されていえるマーケット。本当に、野菜にお肉が美味しいんですよ♪土が付いてる野菜が売っているので、“おぉ～、オーガニック”って洗脳されてました（笑）

Whole Foodsの前からあるのは、Trader Joe's。ここは安くって美味しいですよね。叔母が、従姉妹の出産でAtlantaへ行った時、派手～なエコバック買ってきてました。最近、Trader Joe'sのエコバック見かけるんですよね。日本では、Trader Joe'sの方がはやるのかなっ!?

写真は、L.A.に住んで居た時、良く通ったWest Los Angeles店のWhole Foodsです。雨の後だからちょっとシットリした感じが出てるでしょ?ここのお店で何度かHollywood celebritiesを見かけました☆ジャージ着てたり、とってもラフな格好でお買い物。Celebritiesを見かけるとなんか得した気分♪（ただのミーハーです。）

Whole Foodsは、あちらこちらからフランチャイズとして出店したいと申し込みがあるらしいんですが、Whole Foods側は、野菜などを提供できる彼らのスタンダードに合った農家が周辺にない限り、供給が出来ないから、Starbucksの様にあっちこっちとオープンできないんですって。Canadaに出店するときも相当すったもんだしたみたいですよ。それだけ信頼されているんですね～。

HPには、た～くさんのrecipesが掲載されています。登録が必要ですが、無料だから気になる人はcheck it outですよぉー。ビデオのレシピもあるんですよ。

Whole Foods is selected by Fortune "100 Best Companies to Work For" ranking. In 2007 was No. 5! What a nice. Actually employees are so nice, and friendly. I've never met mean people there.

Anyway, Whole Foods is natural and organic market. Their vegetables meats are not so cheap, but they are worth! Especially, vegetables! They are sooooooo tasty. Their HP quote many recipes. Once you registered, you can see anytime. It's free. Try to find your favorite recipes!

Trader Joe's sell delicious foods, too. Good thing is they are cheap! I found my anti had Trader Joe's eco bag. That is a chichi design. I saw several people with that bags in Tokyo. Umm... Trader Joe's become fashionable!? ha, ha. What do think about Whole Foods' ego bag? Isn't cute?

Cafe Med--West Hollywood

久しぶりにご飯の話～！West HollywoodのSunset Plaza内にある、イタリアン・ストラン、Cafe Med。

場所がとっても分かりやすいので、見つけやすいですよ。UCLAのあるWestwoodからひたすら東へクネクネとした道を走ります。余談ですが、左手にEaglesの曲で有名な“Hotel California”の舞台になっている“Beverly Hills Hotel”が見えます。そこを越えるとWestHollywoodエリアに入り、Rainbow、Key Club、Wisky a go-go、などのクラブがある通りを越し、Sunset Plazaへ到着。ここ、Sunset PlazaはプチBeverly Hillsような雰囲気のお店が建ち並んでいるんです。

Pizzaも美味しいですが、私はここのニョッキが好きで・・・アメリカのレストランの良い所は、リクエストを聞いてくれるんです。確か、4種のチーズニョッキしかなかったけど、トマトソースのニョッキを作ってくれんですよねぇ～。
とにかく、立地条件がとっても良いので、初めてL.A.に行かれるかたにはお勧めです♪帰りはLa Cienegaを通って帰るとL.A.の夜景が見えて素敵です。

It's been a while... I'm talking about cuisine today!
Italian restaurant "Cafe Med" is located in Sunset Plaza, West Hollywood.

This restaurant is easy to find. If you go from UCLA, you just drive on Sunset Blvd. to east. When you pass by Beverly Hills Hotel, you are into West Hollywood area. This Sunset Plaza is similar to Rodeo Dr. in Beverly Hills. You may to see Hollywood celebrities.
I like Pizza, but I also recommend gnocchi. In response to your request, they try to make if it's possible. That is good thing in L.A.! On the menu, there was gnocchi with 4 kinds cheese source, but I requested tomato source. That was soooooo good!
Anyway, the atmosphere at Cafe Med is incredible. If the patio seats are available, I recommend to seat there. Try it!

on the way to Las Vegas

去年11月、Motley Crue & Aerosmithのコンサートを友達と見に行ってきました。このバンドが一緒にツアー回るなんて、“きっと今後、人生の中でないよねっ！”って、ちょっと大袈裟ですが・・・。Los Angeles & Las Vegasまで飛んでしまいました～♪

L.A.⇔Vegasは飛行機でも良かったんですが、友達がど～してもドライブしたいということで（outletに寄りたかったんだって）、移動は車。で、その時に撮ったのがこの写真です。やっぱり、アメリカは広いな～ってつくづく感じますよね。アメリカだと月が大きく見えるんですよ！“デッカイ”って言葉の方が合うかな。

Los Angeles→Las Vegasへの移動は、車で約5～6時間なんです。Downtownを通って、アジア人が多く住んでいる、Motley Parkを通り・・・次々に町がでてくるのでそんなに飽きないです。途中、San Vernadinoの山を越える時、景色が単調になり寂しくなりますが・・・Bastowで一休み。ここにoutletがあるんです。そこからは、Vegasのショーやホテルのビルボードが増えて、気分は一気にCasino!

アメリカの広大な土地ならでは、楽しめるドライブです♪

I went to see Motley Crue & Aerosmith's concerts with my friend in the last November, 2006. We thought "we are not able to see this tour especially with those two bands in the future!" I know, I know, it's little exaggerated, but we flew to Los Angeles and Las Vegas. I didn't mind to use an airplane from L.A. to Vegas, but my friend definitely wanted to stop by at the outlet, so we drove a car.

As you know, I keenly impress with the fact that the U.S. is big country. The moon is looks much bigger than we see everyday in Japan. I should say it's huge!

On the way to Las Vegas, it takes about 5 to 6 hours by car. You may be not tired of the view because there are cities after another. After passed San Vernadino mountain, there is Bastow outlet. That the one we stopped by. Afterward you can see a lot of billboards of Vegas's hotels and shows. Feels like a Casino.

If you have a chance, go no a drive♪

Versailles-Cuban restaurant in West Los Angeles

昨日の和と正反対のCuban cuisineを紹介します！写真がないのが残念ですが・・・イマジネーションを働かせてくださいね～。

ヴェルサイユ-Versailles。north of Venice Blvd. & east of Overland Blvd.にあります。夜は列が出来ています。（注：でも、日本のKrispy Kreamのようなアトラクションに並ぶような行列ではありません。ありえませんっ！）

日本でCuban cuisineは馴染みないですよね。私もL.A.に行くまでは食べた事ありませんでした。これが、クセになるんです。

ほぼすべてのメニューがガーリックで味付けされていて、ガーリック・チキン、ガーリック・ポーク、ガーリック・フィッシュ・・・味付けはすべて同じです。でも、お肉柔らかいんです！！これに、black beansとライスそれにバナナのフライが付いてくるんです。

初めて、フライド・バナナを食べた時、しんなりしたフレンチ・フライだと思って食べたから、ビックリしましたけど！でも、クセになります。

このVenice Blvd.には、人気のBrazilian restaurantsも在ります。熱いstreetです！そうそう、ワールドカップ（サッカー）の決勝戦、Brazil vs. Mexicoだったんですが、この通りは熱かったですよぉ～！！本当にL.A.は沢山の人達に会えて、素敵な場所です！是非、チェックしてみてくださいね。おっと、プライスはだいたい$8.00位だったと思います。

Yesterday I talked about Zen, but today it's Cuban cuisine!!! Yeah!

If you live in Los Angeles, you are familiar to Versailles on Venice Blvd. Oh, I missed it! I hardly find Cuban restaurant in Tokyo....

I like garlic pork with fried plantains. When I bite at the first time, I was shocked because it was sweet. I thought it was soften french fried... However, I acquired that taste. It's inexpensive and casual, but it will fill your stomach! !

何から書こうかな・・・と思ったけど、デザートタイムなんで甘いものから！

この写真は、去年AerosmithとMotely CrueのコンサートでLos Angelesへ行った時、コンサートの帰りにどーしてもice creamが食べたくなって、夜遅くてもsafeな“Jerry's Famous Deli (Marina Del Rey)”へ行きto goしてきたice creamです。（大きいでしょ？たしか３～４スクープ入っていたような・・・金額はだいたい$3.00位だったかな？）

ここへは学生の時よ～く行きました。Westwoodのね。

Skyhigh burger（コールスローがバーガーの間にはさんであって食べるのに大変だけど、野菜も一緒に食べれるバーガー！）, Split Pea Soup（緑の豆スープです。Bowlサイズで頼むと、顔が洗えるくらいの大きさのBowlでやってきます！！日本からだと想像しがたいかもっ。）, Reuben burger（Sauerkrautがはさんであるバーガー）お勧めです。

そそ、席に着くと山盛りのpicklesを持ってきてくれるんです！お酢苦手だけど、Sauerkrautは食べれるからこればっかつまんでました。WestwoodのJFDは、UCLAの学生客が多いから気のせいか学生に優しかったかも。

これからL.A.で生活する人、ここcheck it outです！

I gonna talk about ice cream because it's desert time!

My friend & I went to see Aerosmith & Motely Crue's concert the last year in Los Angeles. After the concert I was desperate to eat ice cream, so we stopped by Jerry's Famous Deli in Marina Del Rey. In the U.S., this size is as usual, but in Japan NO WAY! (Well, you can find at some American restaurants. )

I used to go to JFD at Westwood when I was a college student with my roomy and friends.

My favorites are Skyhigh burger, Split Pea Soup, Reuben burger, so on. I can't believe it I ate those food after midnight!! ha, ha. I would say I needed energy for study! excuse, excuse...

Anyway their restaurants are located safe areas, so if you go abroad to study to Los Angeles, why don't you check it out!

始めてみました、blog。今更ですねぇ～。

ex-roommateに影響受けました。

Los Angelesでの生活(またの名を珍道中!?）や、Tokyo、Kanagawaのお勧めspotsやrestaurantsを書いてみたいと思います。これからL.A.へ行く人、東京へ観光に来る方へヒントになればと思いま～す。たまにVancouverやTaiwanの話もするかも。

Anyway、長続きするようがんばろうっと。

My ex-roomy influenced me to do.

I gonna relate here what I've done in Los Angeles and my recommended places and restaurants in Tokyo and Kanagawa. It'll be helped to the person who travel to either L.A. or Tokyo. Sometime I talk about Vancouver and Taiwan.

Anyway, hopeflully I will be here for a long time! Please cheer me up sometimes!
